Membership Information

The Black Hall Club is a private 18-hole Golf Club that truly embraces the ideals and traditions of the game of golf.  Located on a beautiful and secluded 160 acre parcel of land located just east of the Baldwin Bridge and north of Shore Road in Old Lyme, Connecticut, Black Hall offers a golf retreat removed from the sights and sounds of daily life.  The course, designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones opened for play in 1967 and offers great variety and challenge throughout your round of golf.  The natural routing of the golf course makes Black Hall a great “walking” course as many of our members enjoy their golf played as it was meant to; on foot.

Our membership consists of serious golfers who reside both full and part time in the Southeastern Connecticut region and beyond.  Our golf course is regarded as truly one of the best tests of golf in the state and is always maintained at a championship level.  There are many opportunities for men, women and couples to enjoy competitive golf and with our policy of no tee times; playing a casual game with friends or jumping out for a quick nine holes is easy to do. Our club’s facilities which include a practice facility, dining room and patio, locker rooms and a full service golf shop have been faithfully maintained and restored as necessary over the years.

In the interest of supporting both Professional and Amateur Golf in Connecticut and New England, Black Hall has played host to many major events in its past. More recent events include a few CT PGA Championships, the Connecticut Open, several Connecticut Mid-Am Championships, Tri-State Matches and host site to multiple U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur and Travelers Championship qualifiers.  Black Hall is a favorite venue among the highly competitive players in New England and is a testament to the club’s traditions, the quality of the golf course and its conditions.
